Shepherds' Conference 2009 Pulpit Highlight 1: John MacArthur

A highlight from General Session #1 of the Shepherds' Conference 2009 at Grace Community Church. John MacArthur speaks about the authority of Scripture in the account of creation. We can trust Scripture in all things because of God's sovereignty over history from beginning to end.

Steve Lawson

Steve Lawson challenges us to know the truth of Scripture, and to preach it to our congregations. God's Word is clear and certain, and so we can preach in the same manner.

The Missionary church is a praying church. The history of missions is a history of prayer. Everything vital to the sucess of the world's evanelization hinges on prayer.
Are thousands of missionaries and tens of thousands of native workers needed? "Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He send forth laborers into His harvest."

Andrew A. Bonar

Revivals begin with God's own people; the Holy Spirit touches their heart anew, and give them new fervor and compassion, and zeal, new light and life, and when He has thus come to you, He next goes forth to the valley of dry bones... Oh, what responsibility this lays on the Church of God!

Samuel Chadwick

Why does the church stay indoors? They have a theology that has dwindled into a philosophy, in which there is no thrill of faith, no terror of doom and no concern for souls. Unbelief has put out the fires of passion, and worldliness garlands the altar of sacrifice with the tawrdy glitter of unreality.
Samuel Chadwick

Catherine Booth

I am tired of hearing the words, "I can't." Jeremiah said, "I am a child," but the Lord didn't pat him on the back and say,"Jeremiah, that is very good; I like that in you. Your humility is beautiful." Oh no! God didn't want any such mock humility. He reproved and rebuked it. I do not like the humility that is to humble to do as it is bid. When my children are too humble to do as they are bid, I pretty soon find a way to make them. I say, "God and do it!" The Lord wants us to "Go and do it!"

I am going to Memorize the whole New Testament

Yes That's right I am going to memorize the whole New Testament. I think people should have the Word of God hidden in their hearts please memorize the scripture with me.

Go to this site and get yourself some memory verse cards to print out on card stock paper then Make sure you reveiw your verses daily, after you have memorized them put them under your review pile like so.

Weekly Sunday through Saturday.
Then Monthly

Like so 1-31.

Do this and you wull have no problem.

Now I know some people have a hard time to memorize the Scripture, well here's the hint, there are two things you need to know, number one, "Walk as you memorize," don't look at me like I am crazy it works just try it ok. number two, "Memorize the refence first," for some reason you can't retain by doing refence verse, refence verse, no do the reference first then the verse try it and tell me what you think. Oh yeah it's only the way I know how to memorize Scripture I have tried hundreds of methods never worked, so why not try those two methods trust me it will make remembering the Scripture that much more fun to do.

Thought I would to give you an update, my memorizing is going well learning some new tips to help me move along and not get burned out... So that's the update I haven't given-up nor do I intend to Praise Him for His strength that he gives me to continue. Thank You Lord Jesus. Keep me humble amd meek. Amen!

I have decided to memorize the New Testament in the NKJV version. Just thought I would let you know...

Also I would like to let you know that I have decided to take some time and slow down the process; because memorizing takes time I am going to slow down.

Also I wanted to let you know that I am going to memorize Psalms & Proverbs and Ecclesiates. So I am going to do seven verses of the New Testament a week and seven verses of the Old Testament...

Another Tip I have Learned is say like four or five words of the verse or verses that you are to memorize and say them to yourself quietly over and over, for about 3-4 min. Then do another four or five words of the verse or verses you are doing repeat the same process until you have finished the verse or verses. Try this it will make reviewing ten times easier. Stick with walking as you memorized but just add this method to it and memorizing will be much easier.

Michael Jackson's REAL cause of death! [OFFICIAL]

What really happened to the king of pop?

Here is a very clear and clever message shared by Ray Comfort on Hollywood Blvd in front of Michael Jackson's star.

Why do people die and what happens after we pass on?

The "Fair Use" law allows us to teach from the MJ clips/pictures used, without violating copyright laws. It has wonderful evangelistic potential, so please pass this clip on all over the Internet.

Paris Reidhead

If I had my way, I would declare a moratorium on public preaching of 'the plan of salvation' in America for one to two years. Then I would call on everyone who has use of the airwaves and the pulpits to preach the holiness of God, the righteousness of God and the Law of God until sinners would cry out, 'what must we do to be saved?'
Then I would take them off in a corner and whisper the gospel to them.

D. L. Moody

It is a great mistake to give a man who not been convicted of sin certain passages that were never meant for him. The Law is what he needs . . .Do not offer the consolation of the gospel until he sees and knows he is guilty before God. We must
give enough of the Law to take away all self-righteousness. I pity the man who preaches only one side of the truth, always the Gospel and never the Law.
D. L. Moody

"We are free agents. God allows us to choose." — DL Moody

The sword of the Spirit is the Word of God, and what we need specially is to be filled with the Spirit, so we shall know how to use the Word. D. L. Moody

I heard the other day, of a little girl whose mother was very sick. While she was sick, one of the neighbors took the child away to stay with her, until the mother would be well again. But instead of getting better—the mother died! They thought it best, that they should not tell the child, nor take her home until the funeral was all over. So a while afterward, they brought the little girl home. First she went into the sitting-room to find her mother; then she went into the parlor; and then she went from one end of the house to the other—and could not find her mother. At last she said,"Where is my mamma?" And when they told her that her mamma had died, the little girl wanted to go back to the neighbor's house again. Home had lost its attractions to her—since her mother was no longer there!

We had George Washington, The Statue of Liberty, and Abe Lincoln all rolling through a crowd of 50k onlookers; the Ten Commandments standing over 14’ high; twelve Uncle Sam’s distributing tracts alongside tweleve 'army men’, with 'God Bless America' playing on the loud speaker.
