Each of us has been created
in the likeness of God
and after His image,
'Let Us make man (male and female)
in Our image,
according to Our likeness.'
We are three in one—
spirit, soul, and body
Like God, we are immortal.
The most important thing about us
is our immortality—
over everlasting soul.
Paul said that he was called to preach
the immortality
that Jesus brought to light
(see 2 Timothy 1:10-11).
each of us, no matter the color,
shape, size, intellect or gender,
are human beings (being human).
But our real label is not who we are,
what we do, or what we know, etc.
What really matters
is that we are immortal.

“There are probably more unsaved church people than we can begin to imagine.” Gary Labro

“If the sinless Christ, who is literally God in human flesh and Lord of all, would so humble Himself for us, we dare not denigrate humility or aspire to self-esteem instead of lowliness...Do you want to be blessed? Develop a servant’s heart. If Jesus can step down from His glorious equality with God to become a man, and then further humble Himself to be a servant and wash the feet of twelve undeserving sinners—then humble Himself to die so horribly on our behalf, surely we ought
to be willing to suffer any indignity to serve Him.” John MacArthur, “Humility,” Moody Magazine

“Do you ever get that wistful feeling that there are other things more effective, even more desirable, than prayer? This explains why far too many of us are busy in attempting great things for God, rather than expecting great things from God in a humble attitude of prayer.” Robert Foster

“Archaeology has confirmed countless passages which have been rejected by critics as unhistorical or contradictory to known facts . . . Yet archaeological discoveries have shown that these critical charges . . . are wrong and that the Bible is trustworthy in the very statements which have been set aside as untrustworthy...We do not know of any cases where the Bible has been proved wrong.”
Dr. Joseph P. Free

“The pain was absolutely unbearable. In fact, it was literally beyond words to describe; they had to invent a new word: excruciating. Literally, excruciating means ‘out of the cross.’” Alexander Metherell, M.D., Ph.D. (quoted in The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel)

“The Sermon on the Mount is the greatest example we have of how to ‘reprove the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.’ In Matthew chapter 5, Christ reproves the multitudes of sin by showing the essence of the Law. In chapter 6, He teaches on true righteousness, the essence of which is to cause men to glorify our Father which is in heaven, not to draw attention to ourselves. Then, in chapter 7, He teaches concerning judgment. He warns the multitudes that if they judge others as guilty for doing the same things they themselves are practicing, instead of pulling the log out of their own eye first, they are obviously hypocrites. If we will follow this method of preaching the gospel, then we can expect the Holy Spirit to help us. For Jesus Himself promised that this divine Helper would reprove the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He does this by causing our words to make saving impressions on the minds of men.” Joel Crumpton

"If you believe that there’s a Heaven and Hell, and people could be going to Hell, or not getting eternal life, or whatever, and you think that, well it’s not really worth telling them this because it would make it socially awkward . . . How much do you have to hate somebody to believe that everlasting life is possible and not tell them that? I mean if I believed beyond a shadow of a doubt that a truck was coming at you, and you didn’t believe it, and that truck was bearing down on you -- there is a certain point where I tackle you --and this is more important than that." Penn Jillette (atheist -- Penn and Teller).

William Iverson “A pound of meat would surely be affected by a quarter pound of salt. If this is real Christianity, the ‘salt of the earth,’ where is the effect of which Jesus spoke?”

Henry C. Thiessen From the negative standpoint, it does not mean that every sinner
is devoid of all qualities pleasing to men; that he commits, or is
prone to commit every form of sin; that he is as bitterly opposed to
God as it is possible for him to be . . . Jesus recognized the existence
of pleasing qualities in some individuals (Mark 10:21;Matt. 23:23).
. . . From the positive standpoint, it does mean that every sinner
is totally destitute of that love to God which is the fundamental
requirement of the law: “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one
LORD. And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy might” (Dt. 6:4,5). See Matt.
22:35–38; that he is supremely given to a preference of himself to
God (2 Tim. 3:2–4); that he has an aversion to God which on occasion
becomes active enmity to Him: “because the carnal mind is enmity
against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed
can be” (Rom. 8:7); that his every faculty is disordered and corrupted:
“having the understanding darkened, being alienated from
the life of God through the ignorance that is in them because of the
blindness of their heart” (Eph. 4:18); that he has no thought, feeling,
or deed of which God can fully approve: “For I know that in me
(that is, in my flesh) dwelleth no good thing; for to will is present
with me; but how to perform that which is good, I find not” (Rom.
7:18); and that he has entered upon a line of constant progress in depravity
from which he can in no wise turn away in his own strength.

“You don’t have to be perfect to share the love of Christ with
someone. But you do have to be pursuing a right relationship
with God. If you are not, your witnessing will be ineffective.”
SCOTT HINKLE

Alvin J.Vander Griend Prayer can move mountains. It can change human hearts, families, neighborhoods, cities, and nations. It’s the ultimate source of
power because it is, in reality, the power of Almighty God.
Prayer can do what political action cannot, what education cannot,
what military might cannot, and what planning committees cannot.
All these are impotent by comparison.

“I was born of the flesh in 1837. I was born of the Spirit in 1856. That which is born of the flesh may die. That which is born of the Spirit will live forever.” D.L. Moody

"Today orthodox medicine is beginning to concede that some 'natural' remedies, such as poultices, really do work just as effectively as 'modern' medicines." Richard Gunther

God will sometimes bend
the ceremonial laws
because of circumstances.
However, His moral Law,
He will not compromise.
He is the same
yesterday, today, and forever.
God will judge humanity
with His law, written in stone
and written upon every man's heart

The way to stimulate
and provoke others unto good works
is to strive to outrun them in the race.
The way to rebuke
the cold and indifferent
is to be always full of zeal
and 'abounding in the work
of the Lord' yourself.
Men will be much more ready
to answer a call
to come up to your level
than a command to advance
beyond you.

"The average thunderstorm contains about 100,000 tons of water. Imagine, 100,000 tons of water floating about in the sky! All that water just sits there, without crashing down, or 'rending' the cloud."
Richard Gunther

"Long before it was scientifically recognized that the air had weight, the Bible said that it did. It also tells us that the water has weight - but the fact that so much water covers the Earth, means that the effects of the sun and moon's gravity are balanced perfectly. The energy is dissipated in the water - the weight of the water is precisely measured."
Richard Gunther

Job's friends chose the right time to visit him, but took not the right course of improving their visit; had they spent the time in praying for him which they did in hot disputes with him, they would have profited him, and pleased God more.

"Modern deep sea diving cameras have discovered amazing hot-water vents on the floor of the oceans. These thermal vents release huge amounts of mineral rich super-heated water-springs in the darkness."

"Sir Isaac Newton studied light discovered that white light is made of seven colors, which can be 'parted' from the white, and then recombined to make whit again."

"Modern science has confirmed that the air around the planet turns in huge circles, clockwise in one hemisphere and counterclockwise in the other."

Today comes but once
and comes never to return.
We hope it will come again tomorrow;
but it does not.
It is gone forever,
with its inexhaustible possibilities,
